About
Semantic Assets Catalog
The Semantic Assets Catalog is part of the Interoperability Basis platform, supporting the cataloguing, description, management, and reuse of semantic assets across domains and information systems. It provides a structured environment for registering, classifying, versioning, and linking semantic assets, including metadata schemas and data models, ontologies and vocabularies, thesauri, taxonomies, code lists, and glossaries.
Semantic assets are described in accordance with the ADMS (Asset Description Metadata Schema) and its application profiles, ensuring standardised metadata, comparability, and long-term availability. The catalog supports different stages of the semantic asset lifecycle, including assets under development, and enables collaborative workflows, expert review, and controlled maturity levels based on ADMS extensions (ADMS-WF).
Dissemination of semantic assets follows Semantic Web principles, ensuring consistent identification, linking, and reuse across systems and domains. By providing a shared semantic layer, the Semantic Assets Catalog contributes to semantic alignment, data integration, and interoperability in distributed information systems, in line with the objectives of the Interoperability Basis platform.
The catalog is published under the open CC BY 4.0 license, supporting unrestricted reuse of semantic assets and fostering their wide dissemination and interoperability.
